Returning items to Lowe's is easy if you have proof of purchase:
Depending
on how you originally paid, you can exchange, get a cash refund, have it
credited to your account, or get in-store credit.
If you used a Lowe's gift card, refund card, merchandise card or in-store credit, you will get a refund in the form of in-store credit. For check payment, if it is within 3 days, You'll get in-store credit; after 3 days, This refund may be cash or in-store credit depending on the verification system. If you used Lowe's Pay, the refund goes back to the financing institution. You will handle the refund process directly with them. allows returns on holiday items up until the actual holiday. If you purchase a

Returns Without a Receipt at Lowe's Made Easy

card, Verifying the account number, MyLowe's card, or your phone number. For
returns without a valid receipt, Lowe's may choose to give you in-store credit
for the current selling price of the item.
To
process returns without a receipt, you will need a valid picture ID such as a
state driver's license, state ID card, or military ID. The same ID may used for
returns may be required when using in-store credit for purchases. Lowe's checks
refund verification systems and may enter ID information into these systems
when authorized by law. Returns without receipt are subject to system approval.
At Lowes discretion, we may issue in-store credit for the current selling price
of the item. Lowe's may refuse and/or limit returns without a valid receipt.
Exceptions to the 48-hour Lowe's Return Policy
Some
Lowe's items have a 48-hour return policy, which means you must initiate the
return process within 48 hours of delivery or upon picking it up at a Lowe's
store.
These items include:
Major
appliances: refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer, range, hood, dishwasher,
over-the-range microwave, cooktops, wall oven, washer and dryer pedestals.
Utility
Vehicles and Golf Carts: These must be returned to Lowe's stores in their
original condition of purchase with original paperwork, including title if
applicable.
Returning Large Appliances at Lowe's
If
you purchased a major appliance at Lowe's, such as a dishwasher, dryer,
freezer, microwave, oven, refrigerator or washer, there is a specific rule. To
return these big-ticket items and receive a full refund, you have a short
48-hour period starting from the time of pickup or delivery. This policy
ensures that customers can take timely decisions about these important
purchases.
Lowe's Items with 30-Day Return Policy
For
some items at Lowe's, you have a short period of 30 days to return them for a
full refund. Some items from Lowe's come with a 30-day return policy. Here is a

items must be returned to the Lowe's store in the original condition of
purchase with the original paperwork including title if applicable. These items
must be returned within 30 days of receipt, and they must be unused and in
their original, unopened, undamaged, factory-sealed packaging.
Items with a 1-Year Return Policy at Lowe's
At
Lowe's, you get a full year, or 365 days, to return most items, especially if
you used the Lowe's Advantage Credit Card. Some of the items covered under this
extended return period, regardless of payment method, include:

Holiday Item Returns at Lowe's
If
you got holiday items from Lowe's, here's the deal: You have to return them on
or before the holiday. For example, if it's Christmas items, be sure to return
it by Christmas Day. But be warned, if you snag these
festive gifts after the holidays are over, they become final sale, and Lowe's
will not accept any returns. So, plan accordingly!
Nonrefundable Items at Lowe's

are some things you can't return to Lowe's, and here they are:

Safety masks or face coverings are prohibited for return or exchange.
Special Order Products Restocking Fee at Lowe's
If
you return or cancel a special order configured product after 72 hours of
purchase, Lowe's may charge you a 20% restocking fee. Make sure to return it to
the same store where you purchased it. Also, keep in mind that restocking fees
may include taxes in some states. Keep in mind, this fee applies to installed
sales unless your installation contract or right to cancel says otherwise.
Plants at Lowe's
If
you purchased a tree, shrub or perennial at Lowe's and want a replacement or
refund, you will need a receipt. It is applicable within one year from the
original purchase date. It is applicable within one year from the original
purchase date.
Hazardous Materials and Lithium Batteries at Lowe's
For
safety reasons, items containing flammable liquids, gases or hazardous
materials cannot be returned by post, even if they are empty. Please bring
these items to your nearest Lowe's store. Products containing lithium batteries
must also be returned to your local Lowe's store.
