Standard Return Policy:
- Most items can be returned within 90 days for a full refund or exchange, provided they are unopened and in new condition.
- If you paid with a Target RedCard, you get an extra 30 days, totaling 120 days for returns.
- Target-owned brand items and items from registries can be returned for up to one year from the purchase date.
Return Methods:
- In-Store Returns:
- Bring the item and your receipt or a return barcode to the Guest Services desk at any Target store. They can also look up your purchase using your original payment method.
- Drive-Up Returns:
- You can start your return using the Target app. Once you arrive at the store, a team member will process your return in the parking lot.
- Mail Returns:
- You can return items by mail for free. Start by viewing your order details on Target.com, print a prepaid return mailing label, and ship the item back. Target will email you when they receive the return and process your refund.
Special Considerations:
- Items purchased from Target Plus™ Partners may have different return policies. Generally, these items follow the same 90-day return period, but some items might have a shorter return window or other specific conditions noted on the item description.
- Opened or damaged items may be denied a refund or exchange.
- Holiday purchases typically have an extended return window. For example, electronics and entertainment items bought at the end of the year can often be returned until January 24th of the following year.
Returns Without a Receipt:
- You can still return items without a receipt if they can locate the purchase using your payment method, or if the item is eligible for a receipt lookup.
Exceptions:
- Certain items have specific return policies, which are usually noted on the receipt, packing slip, or in the item's description online.
